Our story dates back to the 1850s in Nepal, when then rulers invited five businessmen including Shri Ram Rai Tibarewala to establish businesses in Nepal. Shri Ram Rai Ji then founded a local family business in Nepal. After successfully running the business for over 80 years, the firm Ram Rai Mahabir Prashad was conferred the honourable title of Battis Kothi Mahajan – translating to "32 prominent businessmen".  

In 1982, the firm made a bold decision to diversify its business interests, entering the polymer market as an agent for the Singapore Polymer Corporation.
